An Existence That Keeps Offering: Lisette Boer

March 31, 2020 Kate Belew with Lisette Boer (Michigan)

Listen, put your ear to that earth

there is new life about to unfold

the smallest breath, twig, soil at first.

In time stretching past us

Listen, I am sorry for the branches broken.

Still, there are parts left to be known

Uncovered like the leaves of last

morning's steady awakening.

And so what will we wait for now?

An existence that keeps offering

a new kind of generosity that

holds us through loss until

we know the after like our own two hands.
