So What if My Body Could Be Kaleidoscope: Emily Hardwicke

April 10, 2020 Kate Belew with Emily Hardwicke (Switzerland)

I stood under that sky and thought

of infinity and how it made my head hurt.

I was never one for math and so instead

I focused on the soporific stars.

Thank you, to their small bodies punched out from

cookie-cutter dreams, flights of fancy and

velvet curtains where I stand now looking

above, beyond, and through.

And so what if my body could be kaleidoscope.

Illusional optics, rotating

to see both sides.

Atomised matter, connected

under this sky of infinity and beyond.
