I Try to Relearn: Bob Whelan

May 1, 2020, Kate Belew With Bob Whelan (Rockport, Massachusetts)

grief like a basket

            of dandelions i mean
to watch them wilt and

             fly on gossamer wings
and how i carry them
             when wind would

grant their freedom

             and what does that word

mean anyways?

             with death do they escape

to find their purpose

and I try to relearn each way

I've been taught success

             or is success just

another name for ending
