Hestia: Viannah

May 12, 2020 Kate Belew with Vianna (Rockville, Maryland)

I build a fire in the hearth of my

chest where the light bends across the

far off horizon, a taunting

barrage slipping through the first

door it could find.

I don't know how to tell you

that I love you without

falling into the sky, where everything

bursts into blossom

like sakura or magnolia in April

or maybe even a dogwood. So what

I'm really trying to say is that

i love you. And here take

these three sovereigns as a bit of

a reminder, in building windows

and doorways, a threshold like

that fire burning, carefully but

not softly, deeply but not swiftly.
