By Geography By Chain Link Fence: Lior Torenberg

May 3, 2020, Kate Belew With Lior Torenberg (North Salem, New York)

An overgrowth of city yawned

And we yawned with it, empathetic

creatures joined by geography, by

chainlink fences and patchy grass

we pleasure in our shared orbits

the many rings of togetherness

concentric weave of Avenues, of

street, holy cement square, trash pile

cairns to hallowed concrete: ours

for the crafting, this love you, of

long clenched birthright, give freely,

I mean, give fully and

supplicate on love-bent knees

yawning as a way to let go of

hours strung like so much laundry

One window holding hands with a ladder

& festoons of cloth bridge the escapes.
